Outdoor Spaces

People are generally inclined to think of decorating only in terms of interior spaces. One of the most overlooked assets to your home is that little piece of heaven that awaits you just outside of your back door.

Sure, most of us put a grill and a dining table out there and call it a summer’s day. There are so many more possibilities for your outdoor living spaces.

For example, why not turn a vintage potting bench into a buffet server for your deck? These transformations can be as simple as freshening and decorating an existing deck with a new fetching color scheme or creating an eye catching focal point by painting your front door and creating a cohesive palette that brings harmony to your surrounding landscape.

I also work with clients to put the “cool” in their pool! The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a beautiful oasis that surrounds your swimming pool. Those of us who live in the New England know how precious summer is, so why not make the very best of it by creating an affordable outdoor paradise where you can spend most of your leisure time with family and friends?

All projects begin with an initial decorating consult ($95.00/hour). Gloom to Bloom Decorating works with all budgets.

Happy Client

After we had new siding put on our house, the original wooden front door was in disrepair and looked worse than ever against the new façade. I asked Lori for her thoughts on how to improve the façade.

Instead of embarking on an elaborate makeover, she simply power washed the front steps and sidewalk, made some much-needed repairs to the door and then painted it a bright white with birch bark raised panels. This not only joined it to the rest of the house but also created an inviting focal point for the front of our home and gave it the pop it needed.

Although we never use our front door, I go out to “visit” it every day and it makes me smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I spruce up my backyard without spending a lot of money?

There are so many options when it comes to the backyard.  Together, we can create a plan.  It can be a simple as bringing in a cohesive color palette. Many clients already own some of these things but lack the vision to pull it all together.  Some of my best work is done by going on a treasure hunt throughout your home to see what you already have that can be repurposed in a different way outside.  One of the most cost effective transformational tools to use outside is paint.  We can even bring the palette of colors to your flowers.  The possibilities are both cost effective and endless!
